About Jim
Jim Reese was raised by a working-class, single mom in Detroit. Jim
graduated from Hillsdale College with a B.A. in American
Studies and a minor in music. He then worked his way
through Capital University Law School. Jim currently
resides in Gahanna, Ohio, with his wife Nancy,
six-year-old son Ben and newborn son Edison.
As an intern with the United States Senate Subcommittee on
Immigration and Judiciary Committee under Senator
Spencer Abraham, Jim learned the inner workings of the
American immigration system and the faults of American
immigration policy. Further, Jim observed first-hand the
quagmire of committee and the failure of a democratic
system where good laws die without debate and without a
single vote being cast. Jim has protected voter rights
as an attorney poll observer. He joined voices with Ohio
workers in opposition to S.B. 5.
Currently, Jim is a small business owner and managing partner at
Bogart & Reese LLC. The firm specializes in "people's
law" including ADA discrimination, employment
discrimination, and consumer bankruptcy in conjunction
with the Legal Aid Society. Jim is a member of the
Columbus Bar Association Committee on Professionalism
and Ethics.
Like many small business owners, Jim has an unique perspective on,
and understanding of, the challenges facing the American
worker. Jim proposes a solution that will benefit
American workers by creating good paying jobs and aid
small businesses by increasing the availability of
credit to expand and increase profit. Jim will work to
facilitate public-private partnerships to guarantee that
America remains on the leading edge of technology,
medicine, renewable energy, transportation technology
and local manufacturing.
With the American worker and the American entrepreneur working
together, on the fair and even playing field of Main
Street economics, we can successfully overcome the
current Great Recession in which we find ourselves. Jim
is one the few candidates working to put these two
groups, who constitute the whole of the American
economic landscape, in a position to work together
towards a mutually-beneficial goal. |
